Yoga is a practice and life perspective that is more than physical exercise. This can be a significant challenge for anyone, regardless of their ability to move. We believe that the foundation of yoga is mindful breathing – a practice that everyone can cultivate.
Our teachers share yoga practices that are adaptable to the individual, without judgement of their physical capacity. We do this by helping our student develop awareness of their body by review of their positioning in space, whether seated, standing or moving. From here, we use supports such as pillows, blankets, yoga props and whatever is safe and readily accessible to foster preferred upright body positioning. This strives to achieve a relaxed, upright posture whether standing or sitting.
