Yoga for Adults
Our adult programs began in 2010 with chair yoga for seniors and for women who were in transition from homelessness. From this base, over ten years, we have expanded to providing programs at public libraries, senior community centers, the City of Raleigh Parks’ facilities, senior residences, and a worksite for intellectually and developmentally disabled adults in Cary, NC.
These programs focus on providing yoga that is adapted to the individual’s needs by using props, chairs and skills developed especially for our groups. The intention is for the participants to improve their mobility and inner calmness when under duress.
Our current classes
All our classes are suspended until mid-April. Stay in touch with our You Call This Yoga Facebook page and our newsletter.
.or yoga yogaFunding and partnerships
Funding for our free community classes comes from Bliss Body Yoga, whose Anniversary Day of Yoga each August provides stipends for our teachers.
Join our team
We are looking for more partnerships to bring more programs into the public setting:
- Yoga teachers, possibly bi-lingual (Spanish), who are trained in adaptive yoga, senior yoga, or yoga for adults with special needs.
- Studio or hosts for our programs.
- Sponsors for funding teacher stipends.
