Since 2024
We have consistently been in public and private spaces across North Carolina, reaching those who may not readily attend a yoga studio or gym. Student ages range from the twenties to eighties, mostly women, with many seniors experiencing a broad range of health issues.
Spanish language classes reach people worldwide weekly online, while public classes in Wake and Durham Counties reach local residents.
2020 – 2024
YCTY produced free online yoga classes and festivals to reach people regionally and internationally thru 2022. The scope of students was very broad as internationally known teachers enrolled people from their regions of the world to participate. The classes are available to anyone on the You Call This Yoga YouTube channel.
We gradually returned to in-person classes across North Carolina in public spaces such as libraries, parks and retained our online Spanish spoken class. Our students were experienced and new practitioners who were ready to resume community experiences.
Adults of all ages and skill levels joined in.
We developed partnerships with Meals On Wheels of Wake County to engage seniors and with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC to reach the general public. People with all levels of skill and mobility participated in our classes.
From 2010 to 2020
You Call This Yoga partnered with the following organizations to introduce the benefits of gentle mat and chair yoga to a wide range of communities. We provided classes to the general public and also engaged niche groups who did not have easy access to yoga classes, including Spanish-speaking individuals.
