BB got her start in yoga as a young, stay-at-home mom with a VHF tape of “Yoga for Beginners”. She wasn’t flexible and was skeptical about the whole body/mind/spirit idea. But she needed a stress reliever and this little 60 minute video during nap time was perfect. Soon she was hooked and began taking classes and workshops with her favorite teachers. In 2010 BB received her 200-hour yoga teacher training certification through Franklin Street Yoga in Chapel Hill and has been teaching steadily for 6 years at Evolve Movement and Bliss Body Yoga in Raleigh. After seeing how the therapeutic application of Pilates helped her mom regain strength after an injury, BB began to add Pilates into her mindful movement practice. In 2013 she started the comprehensive Balanced Body Pilates Teacher training at EVOLVE and has completed the 300 hours of observation, personal practice and teaching required to become a certified Pilates teacher. It was easy for BB to see how Yoga and Pilates have a synergistic relationship and not only complement, but enhance one another. She hopes to bring an energetic yet lighthearted approach to all of her classes, making them accessible to everyone!
