One of the many reasons why YogaFest NC is such an exciting event, is because the organizers and participants get a chance to connect with yoga studios from around the state. Today we're introducing you to Purna Yoga East, co-founded by Catharine Eberhart and Gayle Murray and located in downtown Clayton. Catharine Eberhart has been practicing yoga since 1996, and dedicated her life to the teaching and practice of Puna Yoga for the last 10 years.
"I feel empowered with the tools to transform my life through yoga and to share them with others." -- Catharine Eberhart
Purna Yoga East is both a yoga studio and The College of Purna Yoga Teacher Training Center. Purrna Yoga East is a fully equipped, clean and friendly studio that offers a Great Yoga Wall, Power Purna Flow and gentle yoga classes. This is their second year participating in YogaFest NC as a sponsor and session instructor -- Catharine Eberhart will be teaching Gentle Purna Yoga for a Healthy Back and Spine. We truly love and appreciate the energy that both Catharine and Gayle share with their students and the rest of the community. Purna Yoga East stays involved in the community by promoting health and well-being through support of the local farmer's market, local health fairs and support of the Clayton Youth Theater, and lastly they offer free community classes the third Saturday of each month.
If you're interested in becoming a yoga teacher, Purna Yoga East's College of Purna Yoga offers an in-depth 200 and 300 hour training which includes an extensive 300 page manual written by international yoga master, Aadil Palkhivala. This manual covers everything from how to take students into a pose, safety points for each pose, alignment and actions of the asana, benefits and contraindications for the poses, pranayama, class sequences, nutrition, yogic philosophy, meditation and key anatomy points for each of the poses. Unsurpassed in content, this manual is a must for any teacher of yoga and an invaluable resource. The next 200 hour teacher training begins October 2014.
Smile in Your Heart Center
That is the message Purna Yoga East would like to share with all participants of YogaFest NC. Those of you who have already registered for YogaFest NC, you'll have a chance to practice yoga with Catharine Eberhart and interact with others from Purna Yoga East in person.
